The impeller is the rotor and rotating part of a centrifugal pump. The front and rear shrouds have pump-out vanes to minimize recirculation and seal contamination. Hard metal and molded elastomer impellers are completely interchangeable. No inserts or nuts are required for cast-in impeller threads. High efficiency and high head designs are also available. It increases or decreases fluid pressure and flow. When slurry pumps handle solid mixtures, the most abrasive component is the impeller.

Classification and function of slurry pump impeller:

Closed impeller high efficiency, manufacturing difficulty, mostly used in centrifugal pumps. Suitable for conveying low viscosity, no particles of clean liquids, such as water, solution; Semi-closed impeller: semi-closed impeller is suitable for conveying easy to precipitate or contain trace particles of materials, efficiency is lower than the closed impeller; Open impeller impeller: only the blade and no complete cover of the impeller is called open impeller. Open impeller is suitable for conveying materials containing more suspended materials, low efficiency, conveying liquid pressure is not high.
· According to its suction can be divided into: single suction type structure is simple, only from one side of the liquid inhalation; double suction type structure is more complex, the liquid from both sides of the inhalation, suction capacity.

Rubber wet parts have good abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance, usually used in acidic working conditions. For example, tailings, small particles, no burr slurry in mining industry.
